Export XML to Final Cut, Premiere or DaVinci Resolve
Export just your cuts as an .fcpxml file and finish the edit in Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve with your original footage untouched.
Export the cuts
Use this when you want CueClip to do the boring first cut and a pro editor to do the rest. Your original media is not re-encoded. Only the edit decisions travel.
- Click Export, then choose Export XML.
- Save the .fcpxml file.
- Import it into your editor using the steps below.
Import it
| Editor | Steps |
|---|---|
| DaVinci Resolve | File → Import → Timeline, select the .fcpxml, click Import |
| Premiere Pro | File → Import, select the .fcpxml, then double-click the new sequence |
| Final Cut Pro | File → Import → XML, select the .fcpxml, click Import |
If clips show as offline, relink them to the original video file. CueClip's XML points at your original footage.
Questions
Which format is the XML?
FCPXML (.fcpxml), which Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve can all import.
Does the XML include captions or zooms?
The XML carries your cuts. Add captions and effects in the destination editor, or export captions as .srt/.vtt.
