Import your Zoom cloud recordings

Connect your Zoom account once and CueClip can list and import your cloud recordings directly, with no share link or passcode.

Updated 2026-11-02

What it does

Connecting your Zoom account lets CueClip see the cloud recordings on that account and pull one straight down to your Mac. You don't have to find a share link, copy a passcode, or download the file yourself. When Zoom kept the shared screen and the camera as separate files, CueClip opens them as a screen recording with your camera on top, already lined up by Zoom's own timestamps.

CueClip only ever reads. It never starts, joins, records, changes or deletes anything in your Zoom account.

Adding the app

Zoom recordings are imported by asking an AI assistant, so connect CueClip to one first — see Use CueClip with Claude and ChatGPT (MCP). Then:

  1. Ask your assistant: "Connect my Zoom account to CueClip."
  2. Zoom's sign-in page opens in your browser. Sign in if you aren't already.
  3. Zoom shows you exactly what CueClip is asking for: your name and email, the list of your cloud recordings, and the files inside a recording. Click Allow.
  4. The browser says you can close the tab. CueClip confirms which Zoom account is connected.

You only do this once. CueClip stays connected until you remove it in Zoom.

Usage

Once connected, ask for a recording in plain language. Zoom returns at most one month of recordings per request, so say how far back to look if it's older.

The recording downloads straight from Zoom to your Mac and opens as a CueClip project with a transcript. From there it is an ordinary project: auto-edit, captions, zooms, highlights and export all work as usual.

To get the screen and the camera as separate files, turn on Record active speaker, gallery view and shared screen separately in your Zoom recording settings before the meeting. Without it Zoom saves one combined video, and CueClip separates the camera itself where it can.

Removing the app

  1. Sign in at zoom.us and open Manage → Added Apps, or search for CueClip in the App Marketplace.
  2. Click CueClip, then click Remove.

Removing it revokes CueClip's access immediately and Zoom tells CueClip to forget the connection. The permission CueClip held to read your recordings is deleted and is not kept in any form; to connect again you would go through the approval above from scratch.

Projects you already imported are unaffected. They are ordinary video files and project data on your own Mac, and removing the app does not touch them. Delete a project in CueClip if you want it gone. Nothing is removed from Zoom: your cloud recordings stay exactly as they were, because CueClip only ever copied them.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat to do
"Connect your Zoom account first"The connection was removed in Zoom, or never finished. Ask to connect again.
Nothing in the listZoom only returns one month at a time. Give a date range, such as "my Zoom recordings from August".
A meeting is missingOnly cloud recordings appear. A meeting recorded to your computer isn't in Zoom's cloud — import the file instead.
It imported as one videoZoom saved only the combined view for that meeting. See the note above about recording views separately.

Questions

Does CueClip upload my recordings anywhere?

No. The file downloads from Zoom straight to your Mac. It does not pass through CueClip's servers and is not stored on them.

What can CueClip see in my Zoom account?

Your name and email, the list of cloud recordings on your account, and the files inside a recording you ask for. Nothing else, and it is read-only.

Do I need a paid Zoom plan?

You need cloud recording, which Zoom includes on its paid plans. Recordings saved to your computer can still be imported as files.

Can I connect more than one Zoom account?

One at a time. Connecting a different account replaces the current one.

Where are my Zoom credentials stored?

Nowhere in CueClip. You sign in on Zoom's own page, and CueClip never sees your Zoom password.
