Export just part of the video

You do not have to export the whole project. To export one section, such as a single answer or a clip for social, select it in the transcript.

  1. Highlight the words you want in the transcript.
  2. Click Export in the floating toolbar. Hovering it shows “Export only the selected part of the video”.
  3. Choose where to save the file.
Transcript text selected, with the floating toolbar showing Cut, New Composition and Export

Your project is not changed. Only the selected part is exported, so you can export several clips from the same video.

Other ways to export

  • Export XML: send only the cuts to Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
  • Export Captions: a standalone .srt or .vtt file
  • Upload & Share Link: a private link anyone can watch, valid for 30 days

Questions

Can I export only part of a video?

Yes. Highlight the words you want in the transcript and click Export in the floating toolbar. Only the selected part is exported.

Why is my export slow?

Longer videos, 4K, motion blur on zooms, and animated backgrounds all add time. Try 1080p to check the edit first.
